VOICES OF HOPE’ 10th Fall Gala Celebration – a mix of our best of Broadway and Beyond. More details T.B.A.

On Saturday, October 13th, Voices of Hope (VOH) will present its 10th annual gala performance Reflections of Hope at North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) in Beverly. Proceeds from the show support cutting-edge work being conducted at the Henri and Belinda Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. Join members of the local non-profit dedicated to raising funds for cancer research through musical performance as they pursue their “March to a Million!”

The multi-talented VOH cast will once again fill the seats at NSMT to deliver an entertaining musical selection carefully curated from ten years of audience favorites. Don’t miss the opportunity to treat yourselves to this passionate, inspirational, and dynamic performance! You can’t help but feel the positive impact of this talented, mission-driven group as they burst onto the stage in celebration of their successful support of cancer research through a decade of musical performance. Throughout this benefit production, you’ll be treated to song, dance, and personal stories of triumph and hope, illustrated by the unifying power of music. With such moving numbers as “You Will be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen, the quirky humor of “Hello” from Book of Mormon, the inspirational choreography of “Fight Song”, and VOH’s uniquely spectacular, tap-dancing rendition of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” there is something for everyone.

“Each performance by VOH serves as a pebble dropped into the vast ocean of people impacted by cancer,” says Executive Artistic Director, Dana Siegal. “Over ten years, we’ve watched the ripples grow continuously wider on pace with the miraculous achievements of the researchers at MGH. In our own unique way, we are contributing to the historic evolution of cancer research.”

“Through the years, our members have shared their many different experiences with cancer, and our galas have served as a reflection of their various journeys. Through music and dance, we inspire those in treatment, celebrate recoveries, and mourn painful losses,” says Greg Chastain, VOH Founder & President. “This is not an easy path to walk, but it has been made easier for each of us by building a community that thrives on the strength found through collective support and a common hope for a better future.”

Erika Rosato, nursing director of ambulatory oncology clinical services at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center shares the significance of the support The Termeer Center receives from VOH. “They are funding and supporting this research that we’re doing, that we’re bringing to the bedside, to the patient,” Rosato says. While speaking directly to a group of VOH members at rehearsal, she said, “Your love for humanity, your love for these people you don’t even know, is amazing! We are so thankful and appreciative of all you’re doing.”

From the performers to the choreographers, musicians, back-stage tech, and directors, each production represents more than 100 dedicated members of VOH. Personally impacted by cancer or dedicated to finding a cure, these volunteers collectively donate thousands of hours to rehearsal and planning in the months leading to this single night. Started as a single fundraising event, VOH has grown into a thriving, year-round, philanthropic community. Don’t miss their celebration of the new possibilities born by significant advances being achieved through cancer research.

The 10th Annual VOH Gala will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 7 pm in the theatre lobby, followed by the performance of “Reflections of Hope” at 8 pm. Tickets for the event are: $40, $50, and $75 (includes VIP reception) and can be purchased by contacting the Theatre Box Office by phone at 978-232-7200, online at www.nsmt.org , or in person at 62 Dunham Road in Beverly, MA.
